Contemporary Dining Room Wine Cellar Conversion: Utilizing metal and Glass Elements
In one of the dining room wine cellar conversion projects completed by Vintage Cellars, the homeowners needed help converting a space in their dining room into a striking wine display. The limited space did not hinder them from creating a wine cellar that would add character to the dining area. The room has a height of about 8 feet, with a 324-bottle storage capacity.
Metal Wine Racks: the Perfect Design for this Contemporary Dining Room Wine Cellar Conversion Project
Metal and glass are widely used by designers and builders for contemporary wine cellars. Metal wine racks look elegant and offer design and installation flexibility. With many styles of metal wine racks available in the market, it is best to work with a design specialist to ensure that your wine storage system suits the size of your collection, is designed according to the shape of your wine room, complements the existing décor of your home, and exceeds your expectations.
At Vintage Cellars, they always want to maximize the visual impact and functionality of every wine storage system they create. After making a thorough assessment of the client’s needs and requirements, the team decided to utilize wine racks that would be ideal for a limited space.
In this project, they installed Wine Wall wine racks from VintageView. This style of racking is perfect for small and narrow spaces because they do not occupy floor space. It consists of durable metal wine pegs that are mounted on a wall. The bottles look as if they are floating in mid-air when viewing them from afar.
To maximize the bottle capacity of the compact home wine cellar, Vintage Cellars installed double-deep racking. It means two pegs can hold two bottles horizontally. With the labels facing out, the owners and their guests could read the wine description easily without flipping the bottle. The wine pegs utilized are in Matte Black stain to complement the metal frame of the glass front.
Glass Wine Cellar Doors
One of the reasons the owners decided to build a home wine cellar was to highlight their favorite vintages. The glass doors allow the client’s wine bottles to be viewed from the dining area while the owners and their guests are having their meals. The bottles can be accessed by entering through one of the two sliding doors.
Vintage Cellars used thermally insulated glass panels to help prevent moisture build-up inside the refrigerated wine cellar. Failure to do so will result in mold growth that can cause wine storage issues.
Dining Room Wine Cellar Conversion Project with a Transitional Design
The fusion of contemporary and traditional elements in this contemporary dining room wine cellar formed a balance of fresh and classic feel. Vintage Cellars incorporated touches of metal and wood into the transitional wine cellar design, and the result was amazing!
Classy Wooden Wine Racks
On the back and right walls of this dining room wine cellar conversion project, Vintage Cellars installed custom wine racks made from All-Heart Redwood, which create a relaxing atmosphere in the wine cellar.
These include single bottle storage, angled-display rows, diamond bins, and rectangular bins.
Sleek Metal Wine Racks
The contemporary features in this residential wine room can be found on the right wall upon entering the wine cellar. Metal wine racks look elegant and can go well with any existing décor.
The metal racking in this project supplied by VintageView was mounted on the wall. This type of racking is space efficient since it does not occupy floor space. It holds the bottles on their sides, displaying the wine labels.
